The final Patriotic Athletic Conference dual meet of the 2016-2017 wrestling season was held last Thursday at Brookside High School.

A depleted Phoenix team had just three wrestlers in the lineup and dropped both dual meets. Forfeits are not only effecting the Phoenix, as Keystone had six forfeits and Brookside had three in its lineup.

Riley Horning picked up two forfeit wins as both teams did not have a contestant at 170 pounds. He recorded his seventh pin of the season in 1:20 in an exhibition match with a lighter opponent from Brookside.

Robert Bouchonville (132) also went 2-0 with a forfeit from Keystone and rode a pair of first period takedowns to a 8-3 win over Brookside’s Cody Nusbaum. He now sports a 19-14 record with 34 takedowns.

Reggie Bouchonville (126) went 1-1 on the evening. He lost by a pin to the Cardinals’ Chas Jackson in 1:30 and recorded his first pin of the season in 2:12 after building up a 7-0 lead over Curtis Toth of Keystone.

The PAC tournament will take place Saturday at Brookside High School. Wrestling is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
