To the editor:
In light of the recent protests against Gibson’s Bakery, I just want to say that the protesters have it all wrong!
I was employed by Gibson’s many years ago and they are one of the most hard-working and honest business professionals in the city of Oberlin. This is not a race issue. Theft is theft. The issue is learning right from wrong. The Gibson family did not tolerate theft from employees or customers during the time I was employed by them and I don’t think that moral compass has changed! Taking something that doesn’t belong to you is stealing, plain and simple!
Let’s support Gibson’s Bakery for standing up for all the merchants in Oberlin! If you don’t pay, you don’t walk away!
