ArbNet cash will help study root suffocation

The John Bartram Arboretum is one of just six institutions in the United States and Mexico to earn a share of ArbNet’s 5th Anniversary Capacity Building Grant. The more-than-100-acre Kendal at Oberlin grounds was awarded $1,000. It will be used for a pilot test to remedy the issue of root suffocation with training and assistance from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Urban Forestry program, said Larry Dunn, Kendal arboretum committee chair.
